Aliás, nenhum artista hispânico ou italiano aparece entre os possíveis condecorados.
A ausência da Shakira também choca.
Ano passado, Omar Apollo, Bad Bunny, Anitta e Måneskin figuravam na parte principal da premiação. Bom, façamos justiça aqui: Edgar Barreia aparece entre os indicados a Compositor do Ano, nosso prêmio de consolação em uma edição patética na ignorância da latinidade.
Ponto principal: os dois trabalhos da Carolina competem em pé de igualdade com qualquer um dos indicados. E se vamos falar além de qualidade musical, Karol G reinou nos charts na temporada. Não lhe faltam números, boas músicas ou talento. Nem potencial comercial, já que sua turnê sold out impressionou os norte-americanos.
O que falta é a Academia ter a visão periférica alerta, além do mundo anglo. As categorias latinas tampouco impressionam e parecem uma cópia de sua co-irmã hablantel. Sim, ali figura uma única indicação à colombiana em Melhor Álbum de Música Urbana. Pouco, muito pouco, para quem viveu um ano histórico.
Menos ainda para aquela que deveria ser a noite de gala da música mundial, não mais um clubinho de obviedades made in America. O evento acontece no dia 4 de fevereiro, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos.
